“Never put passion in front of principle, even if you win, you’ll lose.” Mr. Miyagi
We’ve got some serious stuff going on in our world; serious, exciting, exhilarating and scary all at the same time.
It’s good that we care. There are those twirling noisemakers and cheering victory and there are those watching with a deep feeling of dread, sadness and uncertainty, and there are those somewhere in between. These feelings are universal and international and we’re all caught up in the change wondering what it will mean across our borders and behind walls that have been promised in ways more than with concrete and mortar.
So, what can we do? We need to bring it down to the level we can control. Ourselves. I think our survival and success depends on each of us being the best we can be – in other words, making ourselves great again.
Making ourselves great again means standing up for what we believe in, not accepting discounted explanations and grey areas. It means questioning what is inappropriate and unethical and immoral. That’s how we make ourselves great; by living our principles first, then living them with passion.
Small steps to make me feel great again and to have confidence in our tomorrow, gonna look my best to do my best and not get caught up in the glitter and thunder I can’t control.
